Joint Bearing

Metric Series Spherical Plain Bearing, joint bearing

This spherical plain bearing consists of a carbon steel outer ring, which is split circumferentially and coated with hard chrome on the inside. It is constructed in two parts and fastened with screws. The inner ring is crafted from a copper alloy and contains solid lubricant plugs. Upon first installation, this bearing necessitates grease lubrication. It is crucial to shield the bearing from dirt and contamination.

Spherical plain bearings, also known as joint bearings or bushings, are specialized bearings designed to handle high loads and facilitate movements in multiple directions, including tilting, oscillating, and rotating movements. These bearings are essential in applications that require the accommodation of misalignment, primarily in heavy-duty and industrial settings. The Metric Series Spherical Plain Bearings are a specific category within this type of bearing, designed to meet international metric dimension standards, making them suitable for a wide range of global applications.

Metric Series Spherical Plain Bearings are critical components in applications requiring the accommodation of misalignment under high load conditions. Their design and material choices make them suitable for a wide range of industrial and automotive applications, offering durability, versatility, and high load capacity.

Self-lubricating spherical plain bearings, also known as maintenance-free spherical plain bearings, are designed to provide low friction and long service life without the need for additional lubrication. These bearings use materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and glass fibers to achieve low friction and wear rates. They can be operated grease-free and are suitable for applications where long bearing life is required without maintenance or lubrication. The benefits of self-lubricating spherical plain bearings include a long service life, support for high radial loads, and suitability for low speed, high frequency vibration applications where self-lubrication is required or re-lubrication is not possible

Spherical plain bearings with a copper alloy inner ring. These bearings are designed to accommodate radial and combined radial and axial loads. They are available in different materials, including chrome steel or equivalent, special copper alloy, and S45C steel. The inner ball is made of high-force brass, and the embedded solid lubricant is mainly made of artificial graphite and PTFE. The outer ring material is bearing steel fired only by fire and MoS2 coating. Spherical bearings support loads in both angular and radial orientations and can support tilting and pivoting, similar to a ball joint. They are used in various applications such as sewing machines, forklifts, wind energy, and material handling.

Maintenance-free radial spherical plain bearings are designed with outer rings that can be constructed from hardened carbon chromium steel, carbon steel, or hardened stainless steel. Models made from hardened chromium carbon steel or stainless steel feature either axial or radial splits to facilitate ball entry. In contrast, carbon steel outer rings can be either pressed around the inner ring or designed with radial splits secured by screws. The inner rings of these maintenance-free bearings are crafted from either hardened carbon chromium steel, hardened stainless steel, or a copper alloy.

Spherical plain bearings are specialized in design, featuring an inner ring with a convex outer surface and an outer ring with a corresponding spherical but concave inner surface. This structure makes them ideal for applications requiring alignment adjustments between the shaft and housing, or where oscillating, tilting, or slow sliding movements are necessary. They come in two types: maintenance-required (steel-to-steel) and maintenance-free.

Maintenance-required radial spherical plain bearings have hardened sliding surfaces on both rings, typically lubricated with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and coated with phosphate, enhancing wear and corrosion resistance. These bearings are well-suited for handling heavy or shock loads and require regular lubrication. They excel in situations with heavy alternating loads or substantial static loads.

In contrast, maintenance-free spherical plain bearings offer three sliding surface combinations: steel-to-PTFE composites, steel-to-PTFE fabrics, and steel-to-copper alloys. Bearings with steel-to-PTFE fabric have a higher dynamic load capacity compared to those with steel-to-PTFE composites. Characterized by low friction, these bearings demand no maintenance and are ideal for long-life applications, especially where lubrication is insufficient or absent, making steel-to-steel bearings unsuitable.

Regarding design features and materials, radial spherical plain bearings needing maintenance can have outer rings made of hardened chromium carbon steel or regular carbon steel. Those with hardened chromium carbon steel may include axial or radial shunts for ball entry, while the carbon steel outer ring is typically pressed around the inner ring. All these bearings have inner rings made of hardened chromium carbon steel.

The sliding surfaces between these bearings may include molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), hard chrome plating, or a bronze liner to reduce wear. Both outer and inner rings can be phosphate-coated to increase corrosion resistance. These bearings are available with ring grooves and lubrication holes, and some designs may include seals to prevent contamination.

graphite copper spherical bearing

self-lubricating joint bushing

oilless radial bearing

Description: Our specialty lies in manufacturing JQB spherical joint bearings, graphite copper sleeve ball bearings, oil-free radial bearings, and self-lubricating joints.

The JQB articulated bearing comprises a spherical bearing coupled with an outer ring, which is commonly split either axially or radially into two segments. This outer ring is made of 45# steel, quenched to achieve a hardness level ranging from HRC4 to 50.

For the JQB joint bearing, the fit between the outer ring and the seat hole is designated as H8/p6, while the compatibility of the spherical bearing with the shaft is specified as H7/p7.

Our range includes a variety of models: JQB-015, JQB-020, JQB-025, JQB-030, JQB-035, JQB-040, JQB-045, JQB-050, JQB-060, JQB-070, JQB-080, JQB-090, JQB-100, JQB-110, JQB-120, JQB-130, JQB-140, JQB-150, JQB-160, JQB-180, JQB-200, JQB-220, JQB-240, JQB-260, JQB-280, JQB-300.
