Spherical plain bearings (plugged graphite), or bushings, are metal-on-metal bearings consisting of a spherically ground inner ring housed in a mating outer ring without any rolling elements.

Spherical plain bearings have a self-aligning function and are suitable for applications where the rotating shaft has a deflection angle. The sliding bearings are self-aligning bearing unit systems made entirely of metal-graphite self-lubricating bearings. They include base bearings, rod-end bearings, and spherical bearings, and the product range is constantly being expanded.
Self-Lubricating Spherical Bearings
Suspension Bridges maintenance-free bearings. The spherical plain bearings with self-lubricating material technology will accommodate the small but important movements that occur between the bridge and its supporting cables.
“Wind pressure, loads and vibrations from traffic flow and temperature variations are all causes of roadway movement on suspension bridges,” said the low-maintenance, but very effective solution Suspension Bridges maintenance-free bearing oscillating bearing; spherical plain bearing solution.
Conventional roller bearings are not suitable for bridges under constant heavy loads for long periods of tiny movements and the possibility of surface failures. Our company’s oscillating bearing; spherical plain bearing solves this problem by providing a larger load bearing surface, providing sufficient durability for the life of the bridge without the need for repair or replacement.
The design of each oscillating bearing; spherical plain bearing mount ensures that even if the sliding layer is damaged by exposure to loads in excess of the design value, the structure of the joint is protected and the function of the sliding bearing is reduced.
These challenging requirements developed bearing solutions, and engineers used a combination of materials from the standard, well-proven product line of self-lubricating oilless bearings. The connecting balls are made of metallic materials and are pressed into the manufactured plain bearings. Low-friction plain bearings include a backing made of steel, stainless steel, or bronze and a surface layer for self-lubricating bearings. The surface layer is a bronze material manufactured using powder metallurgy technology – it is not porous and oil-impregnated, but highly compressed and coated with a solid lubricant material, such as graphite or PTFE.
The bearing housing forms a two-part spherical ring to provide longer maintenance-free service life, high static and dynamic load capacity, and low friction characteristics produced by a uniform layer of solid lubricant.
The design is completed by the use of a thrust self-lubricating bearing, also made from, which absorbs axial forces. This bearing is ideal for dry running at slow sliding speeds, has a very high resistance and is well suited to extreme temperatures and corrosion.
This is not the first time that plain bearings have provided a reliable, low-maintenance solution for bridge construction projects. Many bridges around the world have benefited from this self-lubricating bearing technology for bridge design applications.
A recognized global supplier of plain bearings and self-lubricating bearings, the company provides products and services to vehicle and equipment manufacturers and service personnel in the automotive, light, medium, and heavy commercial, marine, rail, power generation, and industrial markets worldwide.

self-lubricating radial spherical plain bearings
The outer ring of this bearing is a steel sleeve, the inner layer is a solid mosaic bearing. It is on the base of high-strength brass. A high-performance solid lubricant product inlaid with graphite or mos2 solid lubricants. It breaks through the limitations of general bearings relying on oil film lubrication. During use, the solid lubricant graphite is rubbed against the shaft by frictional heat, Excellent conditions for the formation of oil and powder,It can replace traditional flanged linear motion bearings, and linear sliding bearings, and make the solid lubrication characteristics eternal.
Oilless bearing embedded with solid lubricant, has a spherical shape.
A spherical bearing is a bearing in which the journal portion of the bearing
has a sphere shape. In the case of an oilless bearing, the surface where the sliding motion occurs is formed in a sphere shape.

What are the methods of repairing plain bearings? In the maintenance methods of plain bearings, the structure of integral bearings and split bearings is different. Then, what are the common maintenance methods of plain bearings? Let’s get to know about it!
One, sliding bearing – integral bearing
1. When the bearing hole is worn, it is generally repaired by replacing the bearing and boring, reaming or scraping the bearing hole; Plastic deformation can also be used, that is, to shorten the bearing length and reduce the inner diameter of the method of repair.
2. After the inner hole of the bearing without shaft sleeve is worn, it can be repaired by setting method, that is, boring the bearing hole, pressing it into the processed bushing, and then dressing according to the journal to meet the requirements.
Two, plain bearing – split bearing
1, replace the bearing bush. Serious burning loss, tile burning loss area is large, wear depth, can not be saved by turning and running in the method; The bearing alloy of tile lining is thinned to limit size; Bearing bush damage or crack serious; Wear is serious, radial clearance is too large to adjust.
2. Scraping bearings. The usual maintenance method is to scrape the inner surface of the bearing bush after cleaning, and then scrape it with the journal until the required contact accuracy is regained. For some lighter scratches or a local burn, you can clean and replace the lubricating oil, and then use the method of running in the operation to deal with, without having to disassemble scraping.
3. Adjust the radial clearance. Bearing wear causes radial clearance to increase, resulting in oil leakage, vibration, wear and other phenomena. When repairing, if the gasket back to the bearing tile is removed, it should be scraped according to the bearing landscape. If there are no adjusting gaskets between the bearing tiles, copper plating or thin copper skin can be applied to the back of the bushing, but it must be firmly padded to prevent shifting. When the alloy layer on the bushing is too thin, anti-wear alloy should be poured again or scraped after replacing the new bushing.
4. Reduce the contact Angle and increase the size of the oil wedge. With the increase of running time, the wear of sliding bearing increases gradually, forming journal subsidence and increasing contact Angle, which worsens lubrication conditions and speeds up wear. In the case of radial clearance need not be adjusted, the scraper can be used to open large tile, reduce the contact Angle, reduce the contact range, and increase the size of the oil wedge to repair. Sometimes this repair and radial clearance adjustment at the same time will get better repair results.
5. Repair welding and surfacing. Bearings with wear, scratch, fracture, or other defects can be repaired by repair welding or surfacing welding. Generally use gas welding repair bearing bush.
6. Re-pouring bearing lining. For sliding bearings with serious wear and failure, repair welding or surfacing welding can no longer meet the requirements, so it is necessary to re-cast bearing alloy, which is a very common repair method. To check the sliding bearing regularly to extend the service life.
