Bimetal Bearing

Bimetal bearings are composite bearings typically composed of two layers of different metals: a low-friction copper alloy inner layer and a high-strength, supportive steel backing outer layer.

Bimetal bearing Bushing

Bimetal bearings are composite bearings typically composed of two layers of different metals: a low-friction copper alloy inner layer and a high-strength, supportive steel backing outer layer. This design aims to combine the advantages of both materials to provide excellent mechanical performance and durability.

Main Materials:

Copper Alloy Layer: The surface layer of bimetal bearings is typically made of low-friction copper alloys, such as CuPb10Sn10, CuPb6Sn6Zn3, CuPb24Sn4, CuPb30, AlSn20Cu, CuSn8Ni, etc. These alloys exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and low friction coefficients, providing good lubrication performance under various working conditions.

Steel Backing Layer: The base of bimetal bearings is usually made of low-carbon steel, providing the mechanical strength and rigidity required by the bearings. The presence of the steel backing layer enables the bearings to withstand heavy loads and maintain good dimensional stability.

Specific Applications:

Bimetal bearings find extensive applications across various industries due to their unique performance:

Automotive Industry: Bimetal bearings are widely used in automotive engine bearings, suspension systems, steering systems, etc., especially in components requiring low friction and high wear resistance.

Industrial Machinery: In various industrial machinery such as pumps, fans, compressors, etc., bimetal bearings are used to reduce energy consumption and prolong equipment life.

Water Treatment and Chemical Industry: Due to the excellent corrosion resistance of the copper alloy layer, bimetal bearings are suitable for environments where they may come into contact with chemicals or water, such as pumps and valves.

Agricultural Machinery: In agricultural machinery, bimetal bearings are used to withstand heavy and impact loads while reducing maintenance requirements.

Household Appliances: In motors and moving components of household appliances like washing machines, air conditioners, etc., bimetal bearings provide reliable motion support and operate quietly.

The design of bimetal bearings allows them to perform excellently under conditions of low-speed high load and high sliding speed. Additionally, they maintain good self-lubricating performance even in environments lacking lubricating or water media. Furthermore, the manufacturing process of bimetal bearings, such as powder metallurgy, enables them to be produced in complex shapes and sizes to meet the specific requirements of various applications.
