Plain bearing fixing
The plain bearings are designed in such a way that they can be pressed into a housing (with a tolerance of H7) with the nominal size of the bearing outer diameter and are then secured by press fit. This is achieved by the so-called excess pressure, i.e. the outer diameter of the bearing is, depending on the nominal size, approximately 0.1 to 0.25 mm larger than the housing in the unpressed state. The inner diameter also reaches its final dimensions and tolerances only when pressed.

- Recommended preparation prior to mounting
Wait until just before assembly before removing the bearings from the packaging to avoid contamination and rust.
Since the anti-corrosion oil covering the bearings is a high-capacity lubricant, the oil does not need to be removed if the bearings are pre-lubricated or when used for normal operation. However, if the bearings are used in measuring or high-speed instruments, the anti-corrosion oil must be removed using a clean cleaning oil. After removing the anti-corrosion oil, the bearings should not be left for long as they rust easily.
- Inspection of shafts and housings
Clean shaft and housing to check for machining damage or burrs.
Great care must be taken to completely remove lapping agents (SiC, Al2O3 etc.), foundry sands and chips from inside the housing.
Then check that the dimensions, shapes and condition of the shaft and housing are as shown in the drawing.
In addition, check the radius of the shaft and housing rounding and the perpendicularity of the arms.
If using an inspected shaft and housing, it is recommended to apply machine oil to each mounting surface just prior to assembly.
