Bearing storage requirements

  • Keep bearings in their original packaging
  • Large bearings should be placed horizontally
  • Avoid vibration sources and magnetic fields in the storage area
  • Keep the warehouse dry and do not store any corrosive substances around:
  • Temperature: +6 to 25 ℃
  • Temperature difference between day and night <8
  • Air humidity <60%

  • Keep hands clean and dry, and wear gloves if necessary (sweat can cause rust)

Mechanical installation method

  • 1. When installing small bearings that are not too tight, the bearings can be installed to the appropriate position by hammering through a sleeve and gently knocking the sleeve.When striking, the bearing ring should be acted as evenly as possible to prevent the bearing tilt or skew.

  • 2. Bearing inner ring and shaft tight fit, outer ring and bearing hole is a loose fit, press the bearing to be pressed on the shaft are available, and then put the shaft together with the bearing load bearing hole, when pressed on the bearing inner ring end face, cushion the assembling casing made of a soft metal material (copper or mild steel), the inner diameter of the casing assembly should be slightly larger than the diameter of a journal, outside diameter than the bearing inner ring guard slightly smaller, in order to avoid pressure in keeping the frame.

  • 3. The outer ring of the bearing is tightly matched with the bearing seat hole. When the inner ring is loosely matched with the shaft, the bearing can be pressed into the bearing seat hole first, and the outer diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly less than the diameter of the seat hole.If the bearing ring is tightly matched with the shaft and the seat hole, the inner ring and the outer ring should be pressed into the shaft and the seat hole at the same time, and the structure of the assembly sleeve should be able to tighten the end face of the inner ring and the outer ring of the bearing at the same time.

This method uses the principle of electromagnetic induction. After power is turned on, under the action of electromagnetic induction, the current is transmitted to the heated body (bearing), and heat is generated by the resistance of the bearing itself. Therefore, the electromagnetic induction heating method has great advantages over the oil heating method: short heating time, uniform heating, timing and temperature setting, clean and pollution-free, high efficiency, simple and quick operation.

Common mistakes in bearing installation

1. Hammer directly hits the bearing: Install the bearing with the inner ring (or outer ring) interference fit. It is forbidden to directly hit the end face of the bearing inner ring (or outer ring) with a hammer, which will easily damage the rib. A sleeve should be placed on the end face of the inner ring (or outer ring) and installed by hitting the sleeve with a hammer.

2. The heating temperature is too high: some users use an acetylene spray gun to heat the inner hole of the bearing. When the heating temperature exceeds 727°C (phase transformation temperature of the bearing steel), the metallographic structure inside the bearing steel will change. When the bearing is cooled, the inner bore of the bearing cannot be restored to its original size, which is usually larger than the size before heating.
