Self-lubricating bearing
The main causes of self-lubricating bearing failure are mainly
In order to reduce the failure of self-lubricating bearings in practical application, it is necessary to do a good job of cleaning and lubrication of bearings on a regular basis.
Self-lubricating Bearing & Oilless Bushing Cleaning Process
1. First of all, remove the old oil in the self-lubricating bearing, and then clean the bearing with a brush or cloth dipped in gasoline or kerosene, clean the bearing at least twice, and clean the self-lubricating bearing cover and dry it.
2. When cleaning, the self-lubricating bearing shall not be rotated to avoid debris pressing into the raceway of the self-lubricating bearing.
3. The self-lubricating bearings cleaned with kerosene should be cleaned with gasoline. Because there is more moisture in kerosene, gasoline is used to flush the residual moisture on the self-lubricating bearing to prevent rust.
4, self-lubricating bearing to clean, dry, clean wiping cloth should be used shall not use cotton to wipe, lest hair fall into self-lubricating bearings, shall not touch self-lubricating bearing at the same time, in order to prevent the self-lubricating bearings With sweat and rust, wipe the self-lubricating bearings Can be on the board or paper clean, let the remnants of gasoline or kerosene evaporation.
5. Clean and dry self-lubricating bearings, if there is no obvious shaking and no peeling phenomenon on the ball surface, add pure lubricating oil according to the regulations and put them into use again.
Self-lubricating bearings can usually be reinstalled and put into use after cleaning, while non-self-lubricating bearings need to be lubricated again if they want to return to normal use.

Lubrication method for self-lubricating bearings
Lubrication can ensure the normal operation of the bearing, avoid direct contact between the raceway and the surface of the rolling body, reduce the friction and wear inside the bearing, extend the service life of the self-lubricating bearing, enhance the performance of the self-lubricating bearing, and also prevent rust and corrosion caused by foreign bodies invading the internal of the self-lubricating bearing. At present, there are mainly the following solutions for the lubrication of self-lubricating bearings:
- Manual lubricating oil: when it is found that the lubricating oil of self-lubricating bearings is insufficient, it is timely to supply oil with the oiler, which is the most original method. This method is difficult to maintain a certain amount of oil, because of negligence and forget the danger of refueling is greater, usually only used for light load, low speed or intermittent movement occasions. It is better to set up a dustproof cover or ball valve on the refueling hole, and use felt, cotton, wool and so on as the filter device.
- Drop point lubrication: supply approximately a certain amount of lubricating oil from the container through the hole, needle, valve, etc. The most classic is the drop oil cup. The oil drop varies significantly with the viscosity of lubricating oil, bearing clearance, and the position of the oil supply hole. Used for light and medium load bearings with a circumferential speed less than 4 ~ 5m/s.
- Oil ring lubrication: can only be used for horizontal shaft lubrication method. The oil from the oil pool is carried to the bearing by a rotating ring attached to the shaft. Suitable for medium and high speed bearings with shaft diameter greater than 50mm. The oil ring is best to be seamless. When the bearing width to diameter ratio is less than 2, only one oil ring can be used, otherwise two oil rings are needed.
- Oil rope lubrication: the oil in the oil cup is led to the bearing by the capillary action and siphon action of the oil rope, which is used for light and medium load bearings with circumferential speed less than 4 ~ 5M /s. The oil rope also filters.
- Oil pad lubrication: using the capillary action of the oil pad, the oil in the oil pool is coated to the shaft diameter surface. This method can make the friction surface often keep clean, but dust will also block the pores resulting in insufficient oil supply. The oil supply of oil pad lubrication is usually only 1/20 of oil lubrication.
- Oil bath lubrication: the lubrication method of immersing a part of the self-lubricating bearing in the lubricating oil. Suitable for the lubrication of low and medium speed bearings, self-lubricating bearings are partially immersed in the groove, the lubricating oil is taken up by the rotating bearing parts, and then flow back to the oil groove oil surface should be slightly lower than the center of the unbeatable rolling body.
- Splash roller skid: the lubricating oil splashed by the swiping of the rotating parts in the oil tank is supplied with self-lubricating bearings, which is suitable for bearing bushings with higher speed.
- Spray lubrication: the lubricating oil is atomized and sprayed on the friction surface. It is suitable for high-speed bearings.
- Pressure oil supply lubrication: the pressure of the lubricating pump is used to supply oil to the bearing, and the lubricating oil from the self-lubricating bearing is recovered to the oil pool for recycling. It is the most oil supply and the most stable lubrication method, which is suitable for high-speed, heavy-duty and important self-lubricating bearing sliding bearing.
If you choose VIIPLUS self-lubricating bearings, you can greatly reduce the cost of repeated lubrication, reduce loss and improve production efficiency.
How to choose sliding bearing grease
Copper base inlaid solid lubricated bearing
Composite oil-free lubricated bearings
Bimetal bearing
Bronze coil bearings
Boundary lubricated bearing
Sliding bearings are often used in the production and maintenance of industrial equipment. The grease selected in different working conditions is different. Now, Chenhan bearing will take you to understand how to choose sliding bearing grease under various working conditions.
(1) when the bearing load is large and the speed is low, the grease with small cone penetration should be selected, or the one with large cone penetration should be selected. High speed bearings choose a small cone into the degree of good mechanical stability grease. It is particularly noted that the viscosity of the base oil of the grease is lower.
(2) The drop point of the selected grease is generally higher than the working temperature of 20-30℃. In the case of high temperature continuous operation, pay attention not to exceed the allowable use temperature range of the grease.
(3) when sliding bearings work in water or wet environment, they should choose calcium-based, aluminum-based or lithium-based grease with good water resistance.
(4) choose the grease with good adhesion.
2. The choice of grease for sliding bearings:
The load is less than 1MPa, the circumferential speed of the journal is less than 1m/s, the highest operating temperature is 75℃, and the No. 3 calcium base grease is selected.
The load is 1-6.5MPa, the circumferential speed of the journal is 0.5-5m/s, the highest working temperature is 55℃, and No.2 calcium base grease is selected.
The load is > 6.5MPa, the circumference speed of the journal is below 0.5m/s, the highest working temperature is 75℃, and the No. 3 calcium base grease is selected.
The load is < 6.5MPa, the circumference speed of the journal is 0.5-5m/s, the highest operating temperature is 120℃, and the No.2 lithium-based grease is selected.
The load is > 6.5MPa, the circumferential speed of the journal is below 0.5m/s, the highest working temperature is 110℃, and No.2 calcium-sodium base grease is selected.
The load is 1-6.5MPa, the circumferential speed of the journal is below 1m/s, the highest working temperature is 50-100℃, and the No.2 lithium base grease is selected.
The load is >5 MPa, the circumferential speed of the journal is 0.5m/s, the highest working temperature is 60℃, and No.2 calender grease is selected.
Calcium-sodium grease grease should be considered in humid environment, at the temperature of 75-120℃. In humid environments, operating temperatures below 75 ° C, no No. 3 calcium base grease, aluminum base grease can also be used. Working temperature in 110-120℃, available lithium or barium grease. For concentrated lubrication, the consistency is smaller.
3. Lubrication cycle of lubricating grease for sliding bearings:
Accidental work, unimportant parts: shaft speed < 200r/min, lubrication cycle once every 5 days; Shaft speed > 200r/min, lubrication cycle once every 3 days.
Intermittent operation: shaft speed < 200r/min, lubrication cycle once every 2 days; Shaft speed > 200r/min, lubrication cycle once a day.
Continuous operation, operating temperature less than 40℃ : shaft speed < 200r/min, lubrication cycle once a day; Shaft speed > 200r/min, lubrication cycle once per shift.
Continuous operation, working temperature 40-100℃ : shaft speed < 200r/min, lubrication cycle once per shift; Shaft speed > 200r/min, lubrication cycle twice per shift.
